RVA Baby is a full-service pediatric practice dedicated to the care of newborns. Our mission is to support families through the first few months of the postpartum period by providing all care in the home and by offering 24/7 support. Even if you already have a pediatrician, you can sign up for RVA Baby’s high touch in home care. Once it’s time for your baby to graduate from RVA Baby, we’ll send your baby’s records to the local pediatric practice of your choice.
Yes. RVA Baby serves the city of Richmond, Chesterfield County, Henrico County and parts of Hanover, Goochland, Prince George and Dinwiddie. If you live outside of these areas, we may still be able to work with you, just send us an email or give us a call.
We can connect with families at any time before birth, immediately after birth and after hospital discharge. Give us a call, we are here for you.

If your baby needs lab work, in most cases, we can obtain the samples at home and deliver them to the lab personally. If your baby requires hospital admission, we will partner with hospital providers to ensure that your baby receives the best care possible. Your insurance benefits should cover labs and hospital stays.
Pediatric house call visits for routine pediatric care are not covered by insurance companies. In some instances, nurse visits are covered by insurance companies, but families will still need to see the doctor as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. Many families will use and HFA or HSA to cover RVA Baby fees. You can add RVA Baby to your registry or purchase a gift certificate for a loved one as well.
We don’t specifically provide care for new moms, but we offer advice and support regarding nutrition, self-care, balancing the needs of siblings and partners, and postpartum anxiety and depression.
Our mission is to align with pediatric practices to provide the support a new family’s needs during the early newborn period. We do offer acute care visits for our graduates up to 12 months of age, the cost of this service varies but is typically $125-$150.
Absolutely. Our Baby Bundle or The Swaddler Package make the perfect baby shower gift, and there is no need to worry about insurance. Even if the new parents have selected a pediatrician, we can provide services and help transition the family into their pediatric practice of choice. Your gift will be custom wrapped and includes an RVA Baby gift set. The expecting family can complete the contact on the website to register.
